Does anyone know the name of an hors d'oeuvre of pastry filled with cream cheese served warm?

I have been trying to find the name and recipe of an hors d'oeuvre I had at a wedding several years ago (the caterering service was sold and the menu has changed entirely) that consists of some kind of pastry filled with cream cheese and it's served warm. I think it was sort of ball shaped. Does this sound familiar? I wanted to try making it but I have no clue what it's called, and as such, I can't find a recipe. Please only respond if you know what this hors d'oeuvre is called and/or if you think you know what it's called. I would love recipes for it too. Thanks so much.Does anyone know the name of an hors d'oeuvre of pastry filled with cream cheese served warm?
That sounds like a crab rangoon to me. Crab, cream cheese, a little lemon, maybe green onion and garlic and deep fried. Or I guess it could be in puff pastry and baked.

I know them by crab rangoon, but I've heard them called crab puffs, or cream cheese puffs.Does anyone know the name of an hors d'oeuvre of pastry filled with cream cheese served warm?
I just made crab rangoons tonight

1lb crab meat (or imitation if you are on a budget like me)

1 minced green onion

1 8oz block of cream cheese

1/2 tsp soy sauce

1/2 tsp worstershire

1 tsp minced garlic

wonton wrappers

soften cream cheese and mix in soy sauce and worstershire and mince everything really tiny and mix that in. Place out wonton wrappers, cover those you are not using right now with damp papertowel so they dont try out Place about 1/2 -3/4 of a tsp of filling on each wrapper. Moisten 2 sides with a little water on your finger then make a triangle pressing out the air and firmly sealing, from that point, I press the two tips together to make like a nurses hat. Keep filling.

Usually they are deep fried. I bake mine at 400 for about 12-15 minutes seam side down. If you dont use it all you can also freeze the filling and left over wrappers in separate package up to 2 months. Or you can make and freeze rangoons before cooking by flash freezing on a cookie sheet then putting in a ziplock bag.
Crab puffs (or so they're called) are little cream cheese balls w/ chopped crab or shrimp in them %26amp; extra dough off one side (they're folded together) %26amp; then fried, so the part w/ the cheese is ball shaped. I usually get them in Chinese restaurants, but the cheap places leave out the seafood. I think the dough part is just a wonton wrapper. Just try laying them out %26amp; dropping a spoonful of cheese %26amp; some chopped shrimp in the center then pulling the edges up %26amp; pressing them together. Then deep fry them. I have been meaning to try it myself, but I'm the only person @ my house who likes them.
