What can substitute for cream in a icecream recipe?

If you use water, you will get ice of the flavour of icecream you want to get. so if you were making chocolate ice cream and you used water it would make chocolate ice. It tastes just fine...What can substitute for cream in a icecream recipe?
Hello?? Ice CREAM??? No subs available for the real thing.....that's why the ';diet'; crap tastes like, well, crap......Heck, if you're gonna take the plunge, you might as well do it all the way, Ben and Jerry's Karmel Sutra.......So what if it contains the equivalent of a week's worth of fat intake???? Ask any supermodel about the Haagen Dazs diet........Enjoy!!

You can use milk or half and half, I would suggest 2% milk or half and half if your looking to make a creamier based ice cream.
Assuming that fat is not the issue and the fact that you don't have any cream is , look up a milk or a half %26amp; half recipe for creme anglaise and use that as your base.
Creme Fraiche
you could use half and half or even whole milk but you ice cream won't come out as nice that way.
