Can you use cool whip as a cream to make ice cream?

i recently bought a Play and Freeze ice cream maker. can i use cool whip as a cream and would it make it light or really creamy?Can you use cool whip as a cream to make ice cream?

No you can't. Cool Whip is about the furthest away from cream as you can get. Just look at the ingredients: water, corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated coconut and palm kernel oil (CPKO), sodium caseinate (a milk derivative), vanilla extract, xanthan and guar gums, polysorbate 60 (glycosperse), and beta carotene.





Just head to the store and get some real ingredients and make some good ice cream!
You can use cool whip to make desserts that resemble ice cream but I wouldn't use it to make ice cream.





1 c. sugar


6 eggs


1 can Eagle Brand milk


1 pkgs. frozen strawberries


1 lg. Cool Whip


1 tsp. strawberry flavoring





Beat eggs and sugar with mixer till smooth. Add Eagle Brand, flavoring, defrosted strawberries; fold in Cool Whip. If this doesn't fill up freezer can, add milk till full. Freeze.
No, because cool whip isn't made from cream. You need to get whipping cream or heavy cream from your supermarket.

All you need are some eggs, some sugar and some real cream/milk and make a rich custard with it, into which you can put your ';flavourings'; (pineapple, chocolate, coffee etc)


Then simply put that into you machine and eat when ready.
It's prepared, and there's no need to put it through the ice cream maker unless you are mixing it with other things, such as crushed pineapple pieces, etc.

i guess you could use it but i dont think it would turn out well...cool wip is a topping not a cream...i suggeest actual crea..my grandma used eggnog once...but used a more cream based substance
