Do sour cream and yogurt have live cutures?

I heard that yogurt has live culture in it, and it is good for you stomach if you have an upset stomach or something.





Is this also true for sour cream and buttermilk ?

yes. Some bacteria is healthy and some is unhealthy. Pathogenic bacteria (the unhealthy type of bacteria) causes foodbourne illnesses. Salmonella and botulism are some good examples.





Bacteria is used in the production of sour cream, yogurt, buttermilk, cheese, bread, wine, pickles, etc.. It won't hurt you and it makes the food taste yummy.
